It was bound to happen and it’s about damn time, too. Kazuo Hirai has been the face of Sony for years now due to his memorable press conferences at past events (most vivid was his presentation at E3 2006).
April 1, 2012 is when Kaz will officially be the head of Sony in replacement of Sir Howard Stringer, who will be appointed to chairman of the board of directors in June 2012. Sir Howard Stringer’s approval is currently waiting its decision, and he will be replacing the retiring chairman, Yotaro Kobayashi.
“I look forward to helping Kaz in every way I can so that succession leads inevitably to success.”
– Sir Howard Stringer
With Kazuo Hirai as the new President and CEO of Sony, can we expect more Ridge Racers in the future?
