One of the most underreported stories in the tech world seems to be a source code threat that will affect people who use Symantec antivirus or security services. There had been reports that hackers from Anonymous had stolen the source code from the company, but many people didn’t know exactly what had happened.
It appears that the hackers were in attempts to extort money from the company to the sum of $50,000, which seems a bit paltry and I am even wondering if they were truly after the money. However, the “Symantec Employee” they were in discussions with was, in fact, a law enforcement agent.
