The Android Market has received more then just a facelift with a complete redesign called Google Play.
The main point of Google Play is the consolidation of media under one roof. Google Play combines entertainment services like books, music and movies into its online network. The new service is a fully-branded alternative to iTunes. Purchases will be sent to all connected services much like iTunes cloud.
Google said that Google Play’s purpose is “eliminating all the hassle” of organizing your media libraries. “This new service is entirely cloud-based so all your music, movies, books and apps are stored online, always available to you, and you never have to worry about losing them or moving them again,” Google added.
“Your videos, books and music apps, in countries where they are available, will also be upgraded to Google Play Movies, Google Play Books and Google Play Music apps.”
