Doug Lombardi of Valve has denied all rumors regarding the company’s plans to release its own console hardware.
The rumors showed up last week that Valve is working on a “Steam Box” – a gaming console that would be playing Steam games on your TV with a controller.
Lombardi has also denied this rumor stating that it is based on development boxes that Valve uses to test software.
“We’re prepping the Steam Big Picture Mode UI and getting ready to ship that, so we’re building boxes to test that on,” he told Kotaku.
Big Picture mode is a new Steam UI built for TV displays allowing gamers to access their Steam library on multiple screens at home.
